The Monticello Trail winds 2 miles from the parking lot at Rts. 20 and 53 up a gradual incline through wooded areas and past Michie Tavern all the way to Monticello. The trail is crushed stone and wooden walkways that are well maintained and level...More

A beautiful place to take a walk, just not so much in 94 degree weather. Parking is almost non existent on the weekends, but no problem on weekdays.

This trail is a great one for running, cycling, or walking. It is wooded, safe (many people on it but not crowded), loaded with lovely labeled trees and markers, easy on the feet (fine gravel or wooden bridges). It is uphill for at least 1.8...More

More crowded on the weekends, but still options exist for a short stroll, a longer hike in the secluded farms area, challenging hiking through woods trails, or walk the dirt path plus paved to the overlook site, or all the way over 11 bridges for...More

This is a beautiful trail, both fine gravel and boarded underfoot. A pair of walking shoes or sneakers is all you need. Round trip from the base to the visitor's center is a total of four miles. After the two mile rise, there is a...More

I really love hiking on this in-town trail - it's populated enough to feel safe yet through the woods and past the first mile post, you get personal space amongst the trees fairly frequently. Just the right length for a good 4 mile walk with...More

Our first visit to Saunders-Monticello trail was hot but we loved the trail. We will definitely be back. Stay on the regular trail as the Stevens trail that goes up is very strenuous. Be prepared. The other trails are wide and have severa great boardwalks...More

A very easy two mile trail that is wheelchair friendly but not terribly interesting. Definitely not for those wanting to commune with nature as there are roads and traffic noise alongside the route. Probably a very lovely trail in the autumn and winter. Parking is...More

I haven't been there today, but you can park either in the small parking lot near the entrance, or around the corner off of Route 20 (Dairy Barn Rd). The normal trail "paved" should be good. The upper trails are a bit muddy.

Steady slight grade. Lots of shade and well maintained path. Benches along the way. Once you start the trail usually need to turn around to head back as no mid trail exit points that I can recall.
