This is a charming and well maintained Federal-style plantation home from the 1820's. Extraordinary woodwork and some nice period furnishings. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Surprisingly good little gift shop. Well worth a stop. Directly across from the historic 1916 Chesterfield County courthouse.

This is one of the most wonderful small home museums I have seen in years. The furnishings were wonderful, Appropriate textiles were in magnificent condition. One of my favorite aspects with Atrice from the Victorian era. The tour guides were very nice

Alright, I rated this a three simply because there are so many history sites in the greater Richmond area that do an excellent job. I don't know if this would be on my itinerary if I were visiting from out of town. However, as a...More

If you are interested in history, this site and several others in the Chester area offer a chance to step back in history in a pleasant friendly setting. I organized a Christmas Tea for about 15 ladies and we had fabulous food, fellowship and fun!
