The River area in Danville is undergoing a fascinating rebirth and renewal. This trail gives you views from the opposite side of the river. It is wide for a bike trail, has some nice little hills and is very well marked with informative plaques describing...More

I was several hours into a 8 hour trip and stopped to get of the car. This trail was well kept with some nice scenery. On top of that, the locals walking the trail were friendly and helpful offering places to get lunch.

Nice bridge. Lots of turtles. Also some ducks. Locks are on bridge. Bring locks to bridge. Lock locks on bridge. Bridge is for lovers. Vibe was dampened by basketball in water. Please don't litter. Great dam (looks like a waterfall).

There is every bit of 11 miles of paved trails. The gently rolling river by your side. One can walk or ride a bike through wooded areas and open fields. Wild life is abundant throughout. An afternoons walk is worth every minute.

Very nice setup to walk on both sides of the river. Saw a lot of birds and even what looked like a small river otter. Turtles everwhere. Walked about 4 miles total and enjoyed it all!

This is an exceptional trail that offers various views of the river for the entire length of it. It is completely paved except for one small section that is dirt. Nice and wide; it accommodates cyclists and pedestrians alike. Ballfields, picnic areas, and restaurants are...More

We have biked on this trail a number of times and really love it. Because the trail meandors along the Dan River, it is very level and ideal for biking.
