I hiked a trail in the park last week end with my Yellow Lab, who loved it more than I did. Good trails and several routes to choose from there. This is a very nice and under used location from what I could see.

Stayed at the primitive hike-in campsite. The park itself is extremely beautiful and romantic. It reminded me of the scenery in Pride and Prejudice. Wildflowers, overlooks of farmland, starry nights, and bubbling creeks make it a perfect little place. It also has access to the...More

Really fantastic park. The trails were some of the best-groomed that I've seen in a while, and the hiking was easy/moderate, depending on which section you're in. The weather wasn't great when we visited, but the trails were still in good condition. The scenery is...More

The rangers were very informative and we enjoyed our hike. Wear socks and long pants and use bug spray to keep the ticks off. Worth your time to enjoy such a wonderful place. We'll be back. Thanks again Virginia State Parks!

We had a family outing here and though the weather was cold and windy, the park was beautiful. The chickens were out in full force around the antique house and were quite friendly. We took a few connecting trails and had a pretty short walk,...More

Accessible, just off Route 50, Sky Meadows is a lovely walk in itself as well as a gateway to trails in the surrounding hills, with great views and gateway to the Appalachian Trail, for the more ambitious. Great site for a picnic or a hike....More

Yes. We have 3 open areas with tables for picnicking open for everyone to use. We also have a covered shelter and uncovered area that can be rented.

At the campsites, yes. There aren't any at the historical site, but there is an area within the park with picnic tables. You go right shortly after passing the first guard house.
