We attended a dinner at 100$/head with a reunion group. First, management apparently had the date wrong and prepared the hospitality room and dinner? for the day before. So no hospitality room to meet where many had come from a distance. So we casually met on the deck of one of the restaurants. Meal was ok, but just ok, Beef was very tough, butternut squash soup entirely tasteless. I know this resort can do better but actually
glad we did not stay in the accommodations. Tired feeling throughout, bit sad, maybe it was an off day, but memorable for that unfortunately.

We came because it’s dog friendly and looked like there was some things to do in the evening.. but no bon fire no music no entertainment at all .. the beach !?? If you can call it that is not worth the 40$ a day they charge hardly any umbrellas and what they had was falling apart SMH .. staff was nice , friendly.. food was a bit $$ but 1/2 price apps and beer 4-6 was a great surprise!! Room was nice , clean bed was decent enough.. breakfast— 2 choices buffet $18 or coffee shop with muffins and breakfast sandwiches.. want something simple coffee and toast drive to little place down the road… not a terrible place but not a “resort “ that is a stretch

I went to Horseshoe Valley with my school for a field trip. All was going well until a rude staff member yelled at me, asking if I "had any common sense" for slipping before riding the ski lift to the BUNNY HILL. I had no skiing experience at all so I was still not used to fulling controlling myself. But just because I suck does not justify her rudeness! Unnecessarily impolite comments like that are the reason why people are afraid of trying new things, When I told the front desk about this interaction, all they did was offer me a shallow apology. If i were to ski ever again, it would definitely be NOT at this resort.

Hotel was meh. Skiing was great. Met the outside operations manager. Later saw her yelling at a staff member in front of guests. Yikes…. Glad I don’t work there. Wish I took a video to post it on KarensGoneWild lol. Love on your lift operators guys. Overall the resort was dated. Cut my foot on the pool edge. Food was limited. Smaller resort and great for my kids who were new to skiing. I just feel bad for the outside employees having a tyrant of a boss. At least hide the tyrant from guests. Uncomfortable to say the least and the poor kid was in tears after she left. Do better Freed and Horseshoe Resort. Do better…

Skiing is amazing for a small resort! Lots of upgrades to the hill. They seem to have more than doubled snowmaking capabilities. They were close to being fully open when most ski areas were still closed due to lack of snow this year. The new ticket system could use some tweaking. I found it expensive for the size of the hill but comparable to anything else in the area. Food in the cafeteria is excellent and reasonably priced. Great for families and only one hour north of Toronto.

Most annoying things about this ski hill:
1. They post the lift ticket prices - but hide and add "resort fees" even if you don't stay at the resort. Nasty practice.
2. The new magnetic passes often stop working at the lifts - forcing you to go all the way back inside to get them reactivated.
3. The auto pass kiosks in the parking lot were all out of order.
4. The ski hill and x-country ski resort want your birth date name and address of every member of your party just to buy a lift ticket - result - takes forever to line up and get a pass - they make it is difficult as possible to be a customer.
5. The ski hills blast very very bad music - needs a new playlist.
Horseshoe has been a sad and delipidated resort for decades, they are trying to refresh it but have a long way to go.

It appears that the Horseshoe Nordic Centre still thinks it is covid, and has raised trail pass prices quite significantly with nothing to offer. No place to sit, no place to eat, no coffee or food, no nordic accessories to buy, no place to mingle with friends. Even their trademark outdoor campfires are gone.
While Highland Nordic and Hardwood Hills have raised the bar by offering great new chalet spaces with fresh food and comfort, Horseshoe is offering nothing for the same price.
For the price, a useless place.

My super expensive room was not clean when I checked in. Musty. Floor dirty. So disappointed. The resort is basically an urban attempt at being on vacation in nature. But there is nothing natural about this place.

The room was dirty. A hole in the bathroom wall. The mattresses were old and saggy. The pillows were hard. Bring your own. There was a resort fee but nothing open except the pool and fitness room which you can get in any hotel that doesn't charge extra for it. During off season there should be no resort fee. Only one easy cloth for 2 people. The hallways had a weird smell.

What a sad little place. The ski hills are very short and not maintained well. The snow making equipment is non existent. The restaurant on-site is way overpriced and the parking lot has potholes the size of craters.
How does a place like this continue to run when Mont St Louis Moonstone is 10 minutes away and 100x better for the same price?
We did these places back to back a day apart and saw a massive massive difference between then two.
Don’t waste your hard earned money here.

We will be coming to use the indoor pool soon. How is the condition? Last time we were there the pool was pretty grimy (last winter). I sent an email about it but never heard back.

We are staying in one of the older slope side condos this christmas. I am wondering what amenities are available in the condos themselves, ie. coffee maker, toaster, dvd player.

Hi, I'm not sure about the dvdplayer, however the kitchen was stocked with amenities such as a toaster and coffee maker,
