I used the Virginia room for research for my civil war book. I found documents that I could not have found elsewhere. I have also used the library of Congress and in some ways the Virginia room was better. Great library.
This library has the Virginia Room which is dedicated to genealogy. They have a number of books not available elsewhere within the Fairfax library system. Aside from the Virginia Room, this is a clone of every other library in Fairfax County.
