I used the Virginia room for research for my civil war book. I found documents that I could not have found elsewhere. I have also used the library of Congress and in some ways the Virginia room was better. Great library.

This library has the Virginia Room which is dedicated to genealogy. They have a number of books not available elsewhere within the Fairfax library system. Aside from the Virginia Room, this is a clone of every other library in Fairfax County.

Bright and airy--laid out very nicely. Staff very helpful; plenty of seats for reading and browsing although it can be crowded. Computers available. Always enjoy coming here.

I enjoy going to the library in the center of Fairfax City, not only for the books, but for the atmosphere and the fine interior design of the main spaces. The wifi is excellent, too.

As a Genealogist this location is one of the best research locations outside of the History Center in Salt Lake Center Utah. I found one of the most complete locations for Virginia History inside a branch library. It is like a library within a library....More
