This is a small museum, but with a lot of history around it. I've been here several times, from model railroad day to with a Boy Scout troop. there is not a great amount to see on your own, but ask some of the workers,...More

Thanks for the positive review for our Museum. Next time please take advantage of the QR codes we have with many of our displays to use your smartphone to get instant information on that display!
A very small rairoad museum with one old railroad car. Only good for a 30 minute visit with children and maybe 1 hour without. Lots of more fun things to do in Virginia and Washington DC. They even have a small admission fee but not...More

Mr. Duquense: We are truly sorry you failed to enjoy your time at our museum.
While yours is not typical of the feedback we get for our small, non-profit museum, we still know your time is valuable to you and we are sorry we failed...More
This small museum is a nice little find! It's small but they care and they have some neat artifacts as they tell the story of the local train history! The caboose is a fun to see....a blast from the past when cabooses were integral to...More

This historical building houses much of the history of this little part of Northern Virginia including nearby site of Clara Barton's Civil War hospital and memoralibilia of the Battles of Vienna and Fairfax Starion. More importantly it is the home of the railroad museum. Interesting...More

Thank you for visiting and for taking time to write a review on TripAdvisor. We would welcome additional feedback on how we can improve our museum for your return visit!
Besides the building that houses photos and history of Fairfax Station, there is a train car, caboose, that visitors are allowed to walk through. There are often model train shows and other events at the museum.
Grandson loved seeing the train as well as all the history in this Museum. Worth the trip. He loved the train and looking into the windows of the Museum as seeing history relics. It was a great day to revisit history.

Thanks for visiting us! Please look at our website or follow us on Facebook and Twitter for events of interest to your Grandson in the future!
This museum is the real thing. The station has been moved up hill from the railway in order to preserve it for future generations. The displays evoke the past of a local railway passenger and freight depot, while the building itself is well-preserved, in exactly...More

Thank you so much for visiting our Museum, especially given the distance you traveled and the multitude of options you have in the greater Washington, DC to visit. We try hard to meet visitor expectations and are pleased we met yours!
The docents at the museum are wonderful and friendly -- and they have a great program for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. You can do the museum in an hour, which matched my young granddaughter's attention span. Truly a hidden treasure to seek out and...More

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback. We do try very hard to provide volunteer opportunities for local scouts as we know the benefit is mutual. Please come back and visit and tell your friends about us!
