This area is quiet and peaceful, allowing you time to unwind and soak up the environment around you. I love just going to sit, do nothing and gaze at the beautiful surroundings.

A small visitor center stands just off the parkway. There are trails and a campground, and there are scenic vistas across the road. An easy place to stop on your drive along the Parkway.

There are several pretty hikes here from short walks to viewpoints up to a 10 mile hike down into the valley. There is also a campground and picnic area.

There are no fees from the Blue Ridge Parkway and for day hiking. The campground is the only fee - at $16 per night per site. I am unsure of any MTB at this location. There is a Rocky Knob MTB Park near Boone NC. This is 2... More
