My husband and I picked this cavern BECAUSE it is not the best known, biggest, showiest, and all that. We had just arrived in the area and picked Skyline for something to do. The person behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. Sam, our...More

My 1st caverns ever. I liked it a lot. At 53 degrees inside dress warm, despite outside temps at 83! Our guide Sam was ok, sarcastic dry humor, not always as "funny" as he thought. Took great photos, loved the formations.

My husband and I visited here on Oct. 6, 2017. It was a quiet day at the caverns. As we walked in, there were no other people in the lobby. We walked to the ticket counter and the girl there was on the phone and...More

Many people who have never been in a cave might think it wonderful, but in terms of great caves of the world this is fairly mediocre. If Jenolan Caves in the Blue Mountains, Waitomo in New Zealand and Mammoth in California are five star, this...More

Take a jacket with you because you are up to 250 feet below the surface and it is about 50 degrees down there and the tour lasts an hour. Photos are allowed so take your cell phone. I took lots of great pictures. The guide...More

A visit to the Shenandoah/Skyline Drive area is not complete without entering the caverns in the area. Atone time or another we have visited them all and rate Skyline Caverns as our number one choice. Luray is too commercial. Grand and Dixie are a bit...More

This cavern is mainly hydraulic-eroded rock throughout but that is just as awesome as the formations, I think. There are not a lot of formations but they do have the rare anthodite formations. The Mirror Maze is nice but it is VERY short so at...More

Nick did a nice job to lead the tour. Was nice as we had a private tour ☺. Trally love the Dantomite. For 'spelunkers', a must go.
