We visited Chester Gap Cellars last weekend and enjoyed our stay. The views of the Shenandoah Valley are spectacular along with the great wine and owners. Our wine tasting was nice and relaxing ( not rushed). We left with a bottle so the tasting was...More

Have loved this little winery going back more than 10 years. So happy Cuvee Manseng is back. Haven't had this anywhere else in VA. Vinter's Red is wonderful. The view is one you will never forget. Thanks, Chelsey for a lovely tasting.

My husband & I visited this vineyard - beautiful view but ridiculous experience. They charge $7 for 5 tastes but they only had 3 of the wines available. To compensate for not having 2 of the wines, they gave us 2 vouchers for free tastings...More

Chester Gap is a small vineyard with a very big view. Very dramatic setting. We especially like the white wines, they are full flavored and delicious.

Don't miss the driveway to this little, but nice winery! The German owners/hosts are very nice and provide great information about the vineyard and the wines you are tasting.

I am not sure if it was just me or if the wines really did taste a bit on the sour side. The tasting menu consists of seven wines, three white, three red and one sweet white. All the wines seemed to have a sour...More

I stopped by on the way back from Shenandoah; it was a downer. Their pricing is quite high for a stingy tasting of 5 wines, our wine educator could have been more friendly and the wines were not my favorites. The view is actually beautiful,...More

We stopped here after visiting a couple of our favorites (Philip Carter and Fox Meadow) and found that while the whites were decently balanced, the reds were overly acidic. Sometimes you can't put your finger on it, but when a wine is balanced, all of...More

My husband and I visited on a child-free Friday afternoon and found the experience to be wonderful. Chelsy (spelling?) that did our tasting was amazing and obviously had a passion for the wines. We were surprised at the end of our tasting to find out...More
