Having visted dozens of other wineries in the area, we stopped to check out Horton and won't be back. The tasting room is extremely dated, wine is sub-par, and wine pourers aren't as knowledgable as they are at other vineyards. $6 does get you a tasting of 10 wines (of your choice), but this was the only winery we visited... Horton's is one of many vineyards in the area within a thirty-mile radius. A wine tasting event allows the sampling of up to ten varieties from an extensive list. Our hostess for the day was Amy, a delightful, engaging and self-taught expert in the product and represents the Horton brand well. We, quite frankly, were not impressed with the product.

We're really not in to wines in general but when your in wine country you go out on a limb! We tasted some really good whit and red wines. Also, we have always favored what we call dessert wine.....nice and sweet!

You can skip this one. Horton looks cool in the photos but it's very plain on the inside. They have 49 kinds of wine to sample but it gets a little confusing. Each person in you group can select all different wines. You don't have the enjoyment of all tasting the same wine and sharing the experience. The interior has... More

My husband and I have enjoyed Horton wines at restaurants in Virginia and wanted to go to the source. Unfortunately we choose the weekend where they were having their Mardi Gras event. It was poorly organized for the number of visitors. The pourers didn't have time to provide any information on the wines (not that the woman pouring whites seemed... More

Living near the Finger Lakes of upstate New York, we were eager to try wines not normally found where we live, and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed their Norton and Viognier wines. The mango wine was a complete surprise, and we ended up buying three wines, including a white chocolate wine. The young woman who served us was personable... More

We over 40 wines to choose from, it's not difficult to find 10 wines to try, but more difficult to pick only 10! Spacious tasting rooms with down to earth staff. Grounds are beautiful. Definitely worth packing a lunch and making a day out of it!

We actually really like Horton wines, including their Norton, Viognier, and Cabernet Franc. Sampling them at Horton, however, is pretty underwhelming.

We enjoyed the wine here more than other vineyards nearby. However, it was not scenic and did not have outdoor space.
