Over a mile walk to get to the bridge from the parking. $4 to park your car. Nice level walk though. The bridge was so high! Nicely maintained bridge, just wish the foliage was prettier, but the views are great nonetheless!

We arrived at 9:00 and parked at the river road entrance. There is a $4 fee to park. It is a flat 1 mile walk to the bridge. Very pretty views of the area and river. We heard cows mooing so there are still farms...More

We parked in the parking lot on the Rice end of the High Bridge and walked to and across the Bridge, and back. It's less than a half-mile each way on the Bridge itself, but the trail and walkway is level and provides good footing....More

This is a nice bike trail, I would just like to caution families. If you are a biker, then just ride. If you are not and especially if you are taking kids for a ride be cautious. I have seen far too many families with...More

The center piece of the park is a bridge that was constructed in the 1850s across the Appomattox. The original pedestals are still standing next to the present bridge. It is nicely kept park with available rangers to answer questions and assist. A great place...More

We've biked and walked this park a few times. Trail is straight and very easy for biking--there's a bike rental on main street in farmville. There is very little shade on this trail so spf and plenty of water was a must for us. Views...More

Note that the address Tripadvisor gives for this attraction is the MAILING address. The High Bridge is a 30-mile linear rail-trail that crosses a historically significant trestle over the Appomattox River. The trail passes through the towns of Burkeville, Farmville, Pamplin City, Prospect, and Rice....More
