Well worth the few dollars to visit an especially complete history review of the Hampton area and great coverage of the early settlers. Great staff, helpful to the max.

Did you know Hampton is the SECOND oldest city in the country?? (The oldest is St. Augustine FL.) This place has so much history I never knew about. Take a tour!

The museum is centrally located and focuses on local history dating back to before the original colony was settled. There is lots to see and lots to learn. Plan to spend about two hours - and don't miss the second floor!

I would allow an hour but you could spend more. If you have small children you could get through in 45 min if they get antsy....There is a lot of interesting information if you take the time to read it all.
