Wonderful history. Although we arrived shortly after hours, we were greeted by a kind gentleman who encouraged us to enjoy walking around the grounds and to come back during operating hours for a full tour.
Restored church with guided tours and a small interactive museum. Presents a view of early colonial life and times on the great neck of Virginia and information on the Carter Family and their extensive holdings. Must see if you are into architecture or history

This small but impressive brick church, built 1735, was brilliantly restored after falling into a period of neglect in the 19th century. Miraculously, it survived mostly intact, including all the wonderful original wood interior features.
