Rode this Ferry in the 1970’s with our MG car club. It was a fun then and still is. Timeless, it seems not to have changed at all, a cable ferry over the Potomac river. For $5 you can enjoy a unique piece of history....More

Not a good way to cut time to 70 into Baltimore but a great way to see bald eagles, swallows, and herons. Very relaxing and always pleasant.

We had a blast taking the ferry with our boys. Quick, fun, and cool bit of history. We even saw a cool bird on our returning trip. The Maryland side has a park, shop, boat rental, and bbq/picnic areas.

We were biking the C&O and staying in Leesburg for the night - the ferry was quick, efficient, and very reasonable.

Take a lunch and sit by the river after you cross. There are picnic tables on the MD side and a little convenience store. So cute

Opens at 5am and closes at 11pm every day as long as the weather and mainly rain isn’t flooding the river.

I know there is a small parking lot there. I would call them and ask. I agree, it would be a great place to park.
