My partner and I traveled from DC to western VA for two reasons - Monticello and this winery. The tasting room is cozy and the winery had a nice deck for you to enjoy a glass of wine, or bottle. You have to try their pinotage wine, some of the best we have ever had!

My wife is the wine drinker and she enjoyed the sample, but nothing struck her fancy and we did not buy anything. The tasting room is a little small, not good for large groups.Probably will not stop again.

This place offers free tastings, which is always nice. I enjoyed all of their wines, but their Cabernet Franc was a standout. We had tried some at the B&B where we were staying, and came to this winery because we liked it so much. the Seyval Blanc was also excellent.

We had tried their wines at the Virginia Wine Expo and really enjoyed the few wines they had there. We wanted to stop at their winery, since there are normally many more wines to try there. Not so in this case, they only had a handful of wines to taste - just like at the Expo. Their wines were OK,... More

This was our first stop on a wine tasting day. There was not really a winetasting room per se, they just had a bar in the same room as the steel tanks so it has a warehouse feel. We were poured five wines and there was not a tasting fee which was nice. Overall their wines were too sweet for... More

After hiking Crabtree Falls we decided to stop at a few vineyards- this being one of them! We were the only ones there for the majority of the time and really enjoyed the free tasting and knowledgable staff member. We bought a couple of bottles- the rotunda red was our favorite! Definitely check it out if you're looking for a... More

We happened in on Saturday to do their free tasting and they were also doing a vertical merlot tasting. What a treat! Chatting with the staff was wonderful. They know there stuff. We left with many bottles of wine, which was not our plan, but we just couldn't leave without it.

This is a small, family winery that invests in its wines and customers, not a fancy tasting room. Very good wines at a range of affordable price points. If you're more interested in souvenir glasses and a mahogany bar than wine, you've got plenty of other options - leave this place for those of us who want to taste the... More

We visited here for the first time and loved it. We enjoyed all of the wines and bought two bottles to bring home. Awesome setting with a super friendly, welcoming host. We loved it and cannot wait to return.
