Our group had a fabulous tour of the house and garden with Shaun Spencer Hester, granddaughter of Anne and Edward Spencer. Lots of Lynchburg and American literary history, beautifully restored gardens.

The home and gardens are maintained by the poet’s grand daughter with help from the local garden club. The historic tour includes anecdotes about Anne Spencer and other Harlem Renaissance figures who visited her.
