Loved this so much! Would go again in a heartbeat! I would not, however, recommend the National Treasure tour, unless you want just more details about the estate. Still, most of what was discussed in the tour can be learned on one's own if you...More

Beautiful home and estate overlooking the Potomac River. Knowledgeble tour guides in period dress. The only downfall would be the need for golf cart or some type of transport for those with difficulty walking. Walkways are uneven and steep in places.

I can't believe I had never taken a tour of Mount Vernon as I had numerous opportunities in the past. This property is simply incredible and the views from the back of GW's house was breathtaking to say the least. It was nice to learn...More

I'm not a history buff and I really enjoyed the site. We were here from 10-4 with a 7 and 8 yr old and could have stayed longer. It was very crowded on Memorial Day weekend, but it was manageable. There was so much to...More

As the title suggests, this place is truly special and a world treasure. Presently decorated as it was in 1799, the mansion house gives a glimpse into the life of the Washington family. This is my fourth visit to Mount Vernon and I never cease...More

I have a little bit of a different story for Mount Vernon, as I went on a research venture. The staff was incredible, assisting me in getting access I needed to materials and scheduling times that worked for both of us to assist me in...More

Exceeded my expectations. In addition to the main house saw several out buildings including slave quarters and where others stayed. They have a Martha Washington actress who chats with you about matters of that era in extreme detail. She told us about sewing and how...More

As extravagant as the entrance is to the home I expected some more hands on deck with Memorial Day weekend. I felt like cattle being hurried through the house. Although it was neat to see and walk the grounds. The volunteers and staff answered my...More
