A little bit of walking takes you to George Washington's burial place & when compared to many others it's unpretenious & a rather humble place for the tomb of America' s first president. I liked it for exactly that reason & makes me feel that...More

Worth visit while on the property. Walking path is gravel suggest wearing tennis shoes. There are drinking fountains and benches along path. Probably not the best sight on a hot day.

A fairly short downhill walk from the entrance to Mount Vernon is the building which is the final resting place for George Washington, his wife Martha and about 25 family members. Not unexpectedly, it is very well maintained as a National Monument. Also check out...More

What a top shelf experience visiting this wonderful national treasure, which includes Washington's tomb. Wear comfortable shoes as there's some walking to the far reaches of the estate, but there's also a shuttle.

Seeing the resting place of our first president was a great honor. Employee gave great information and answered questions. The grounds are so beautiful.

This obviously is not the birthplace, but yet the final resting place of General George Washington one of our founding fathers, his wife and about 30 other family members. A must see.

Birthplace is not at Mount Vernon. He was born near Colonial Beach and then grew up at Ferry Farms. Photo is of his tomb, which is nice but is not the best part of a visit to Mount Vernon

George Washington rests in a National Monument right on the original property. It can be viewed all hours that the attraction is open.
