The waterfall is quite high, and the water cascades down in multiple tiers, creating a misty veil that surrounds the area. The sight is simply mesmerizing! You can feel the cool mist on your skin, even from a distance.

Hello there.... wanted to share my experience about this waterfalls because it was a breathtaking experience.
The trekking is amazing. We were a group of ten and took our time lazying about taking some amazing pictures.
The waterfalls is small but elevated in steps, so if you walk up along the sides you have a different view at each level.
The patna village nearby gives the name to the waterfalls.
It might be tough on elderly people because there are no rest points till you actually reach the falls, so be prepared. It also gets slippery time and again.
The area above has stalls for tea and maggie :) so you wont go hungry at the end of the trail.

Very nice place for people who love hiking as well as waterfall. Perfect combination!! There are 2 ways to go one for hiking purpose also a short cut and other for bikes and cars. If you are with family then please do go with car as there is a lot to go after a car parking area. Also there is no public transportation. There are 3 points of waterfall. 1st one is good, 2nd one is okay and 3rd one is best but for the best one you have to go up around 500 meters high. I suggest you should stay there atleast for 3 hrs and I loved having maggi at parking and top point.

We family members planned a hiking trip to the Patna Falls in the month of March when the weather was ideal. It took us more than two hours to reach our destination and see the falls. There are three different points and the third and the highest point is the best waterfall. We cooked some food there and cleaned the place later to keep it well preserved.

I encountered much confusion in finding this place. I found out there is no actual waterfall named Patna Waterfall, but there are two waterfalls near Rishikesh.
One is Neer Garh Waterfall which is about 1 to 1.5 hours walking distance (or take a rickshaw) from Rishikesh past Tapovan. There is a small ticket box where foreigners pay 30 rupees. This one is small but very nice because you can swim under the waterfall. There are no other amenities besides a few food stands. We ended up walking to this one, then tried walking to the other one but had to give up because it was too far, and needs a day on its own.
Further out, the other waterfall is near a town called Patna, but is not named after the town. I believe it is in Rajaji National Park, and a trek in this park takes you to the Neelkanth Temple. I have also heard there is a steep slope connecting Neelkanth Temple to Swarg Ashram area, but don't quote me on this as reliable information seems hard to come by in India...
Good luck finding your way!

Without a formal sign, it was just luck that we got to the waterfall. The way up was beautiful but hard, climbing for about half an hour the steep and slippery way. But when we got to the waterfall and stood under it, it was just a wow. Worth the suffering of the way.

I love this water fall. Really really nice and pretty. Not a place deep enough to swim in though. If you walk beyond the waterfall at the previous junction you will come across a great village too with really kind people. One guy was having bees and honey and rented a single room out for next to nothing. Really pretty water fall and also a lovely village beyond.

Loved getting here, although there were times I thought i might not make it...as there were very steep areas and the ground is very gravelly and slippery. I had a walking stick and was often nervous, and I am a relatively young person.

The trek is at places quite steep and has the stream flowing next to it for a quick dip, the fall itself is a small one with not much water but the beauty is in its untouched state and the gentle drizzle of water instead of a huge fall. gives a very serene &look, a stall nearby gets you quick bites & tea, worth going, but not with small kids.

This one one of a kind water fall. Hidden deep up in the forest with a difficult trek to get to it but once you are there it's worth all the pain. The route to it is towards mohanchitti. The route is difficult and steep climb. You must wear good shoes, water proof recommended and should not be worried about getting them dirty. The water fall is about an hour of up hill climb from the road. Mesmerizing and enchanting is the words that come to my head when i first laid my eyes on this beauty of nature. Must go, well prepared. Sun does not come through the jungle but mosquitoes do.Carry mosquito repellent and wear comfortable footwear for the trek.

what time is best to visit and is it safe with family
Written June 12, 2017
Visit during daytime in the first half in any season the Sun rays give the waterfall a Golden hue which makes it all the more majestic.
There's no safety issue if you don't have any small children because the path is a little bit tough & risky for small children.

You just have to pay a small amount of INR 5 at mohanchatti police check post.
