There are big statues of lord Hanuman and shivji. There is also free RO water for drinking in the ghat.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten January 2, 2024

- Aakanksha21Mumbai, India86 contributionsGood experience !If you have not attended the Ganga Aarti before this may be a good start. The sanctity of the place and the worship style has deteriorated from earlier. You may reach a little before time to grab good seats and view. The sun set is so divine to watch as the Aarti finishes. Please keep your shoes in the shoe racks provided, they give you a token, else chances are you may not find them because of the heavy foot fall. Overall, the feel is quite commercial as compared to the earlier.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten April 5, 2024

If you are in Rishikesh, you cannot miss the evening aarti at Parmarth Ashram. The aarti usually happens around sunset. They start playing bhajan before the aarti. The ghat is relatively clean and well kept. There is a place to deposit your shoes and footwear.
I had a very calm and divine experience during the aarti. The aashram members also provided us with aarti thaalis. Its a very soulful experience.

Like a pest Western and Indians flock the place with their phones held up high recording the fire ceremony. All one can see is a sea of phones, followed by TV cameras on the bridge and more people with phones. Afterwards everyone is busy doing selfies, trying to look handsome cute and sexy. Oh boy am I sad about the state of Rishikesh and the showiness & commercialism taking over this place. Please stop allowing cameras and inspire people to appreciate, meditate and honour this place. Sick!

It a big Ashram with temple, rooms to stay and a restaurant.
We went there for food and it was reasonably priced and tasty. The ashram premises is also vary beautiful and well maintained. You can spend some good peaceful time there.
In evening there is very good Ganga Aarti that starts at 5:30 PM. We were told to reach by 5:00 PM if we want a front seat during Ganga Aarti.

THis ashram is situated right opposite river Ganga. The aashram performs Ganga AArti on the Ghats for which facilities have been made for pilgrims to participate and experience the divinity. Lots of pilgroms are attracted to visit the venue. The access lanes are narrow and too many speeding two wheelers and stray cattle pose dangers for pilgrims whose only access is through these narrow lanes.

We attended the Evening Aarti for two consecutive evenings. It was great. Guruji invited two personalities for two different evenings and had interesting discussions with them. Cool breeze from the river made the place really pleasant, although the weather was hot.

The Ashram is nice and pious but it is not the perfect place to observe the Ganga aarti as it is preceded by a lot of speeches which might not be appreciated by all. I went there with an intention to view the arti but it was more of an session. In my opinion, the perfect place to see the arti in Rishikesh is the Triveni Ghat.

Parmarth Niketan Ashram is situated on the east banks of holy river Ganga in the lap of the lush green Himalayas in Rishikesh. The ashram was founded in 1942 by Pujya Swami Shukdevanandji Maharaj (1901–1965). It is the largest ashram in Rishikesh with over 1000 rooms. Devotees stays here in a clean, pure and sacred atmosphere with beautiful gardens. They can take part in Yoga classes, morning prayers, meditation classes, satsang and evening Aarti. We were able to see the Clock Tower, big size Lord Hanuman & Lord Shiva Idols on Ganga banks at Aarti site. I will visit again this place to explore further.

I will be visiting Parmarth Niketan for the firs time in December this year with my family and friends.
I have planned to stay there for two nights.
How are the stay facilities there?
We aren't planning to do any yoga or meditation or religious courses while in Rishikesh.

Hi i am planning to stay in Parmarth Niketan ashram. Can you advise the charges for their rooms. Also if you can guide how can i reach their from Rishikesh Bus stand

Hi! It is easy to get to Parmarth Niketan Ashram. If you are coming from outside of Rishikesh, take a taxi (slightly more expensive than an auto) or auto. There are big autos too for big families. There are many options available at the railway station but take your time - many drivers waiting outside the railway station will offer prices but shop and bargain.

Namaste!
What are the room tariffs in Parmarth Niketan how many days stay is allowed.
Written April 18, 2018
Hello Parmarth Niketan has many rooms but also functions that bring people so it is reasonable to reserve before coming. The room rate I had was 500 Rps/day in a shared room. The food is to be paid apart. Do not miss the Evening Aarti and the satsang afterwards. Very beautiful moments.

please, inform how to bookit and its tarrif.
Written November 18, 2016
If you are attending an event or a festival or a yoga workshop, you need to register first and can book accordingly. if you want to stay without attending an event, then you need to book online. you can also email or call. email responses are slow, keep in mind, its an ashram and not a hotel. November, late Feb, and March are very busy. always keep in mind, there is always a possibility that you have booked and they dont have a room. it happens, if a religious festival invites other trainers/yogi and sometimes it gets overbooked.
