This was a lot of fun. We rented 2 elephants and went up a dry river that there is no way we could walk up it. The elephants do it with no problem. Would love to do this again.

Always a little wary when it comes to animal attractions, but this seems like a well run place where the animals seem to be well cared for. We took the elephants to a river where we rode them bareback in the water and they ducked down several times to 'buck' us off. It was a really enjoyable day. Some lovely... More

My wife and I made the mistake of coming here. I had read that this was one of the "better" elephant riding camps. I was wrong. While the camp workers are hospitable and friendly, the elephants themselves are kept chained up seemingly all day in close quarters, shut off from contact with other elephants. After our ride, we had a... More

After checking out all camps this looked the most animal "friendly" camp there was. We have made the big mistake in doing so and regreted every minute of it. Besides that the elephants are kept on a schain of less then 1 m all day, they keep a baby elephant circling like madd in a confined space all day doing... More

We decided on the 630am start day of washing, riding and bathing the elephants. We chose to share an elephant between the two of us and we defintely do not regret it. The park is fantastic, we were the only two on the 630am start so we got to feed all the elephants lots of food! It was amazing and... More

Ban Chang Elephant Camp is one of several elephant camps on Koh Chang catering to the tourist trade. It has ten elephants kept in a kraal just off the main road that runs north to south on the western coast of the island. Three of us went with the intention of taking a one-hour 700 baht per person elephant trek... More

Obviously you pay to feed so you are contributing to their upkeep but you can't help wonder if the animals are ok.
