We were taken by boat, to one of the islets. We had lunch and then a couple of hours to hang out. So relaxing and beautiful! Could have stayed all day if able. Beautiful scenery, sat and read and listened to the birds, etc.

Did an hour long tour of Las Islets of Granda. Which included an island of Monkeys, an opportunity to visit an island, view the houses of the rich. Or in my case watch the varied bird life

The islands are pleasant enough, but the main highlights are the houses of the Nicaraguan rich, not worth it.

My husband and I did a two hour guided kayaking tour of the Isletas and enjoyed every minute. We spotted many types of birds and saw some impressive real estate. The highlight was Monkey Island.

You should be able to negotiate a tour of any length. The guides seem more than happy to make a little more money.

You bring US. You can change your money at the bank or exchange from street corner vendors, they're pretty much at the same rate as banks. ATM's will give out one or the other, local or US.
