Worth the see

Not amazing but the museum has a great 30 minute presentation on what went on in the area during d-day. Definitely check it out!

We went here after visiting few other museums like one in Utah Beach. 8€ per person. The museum looks quite old and small, installation isn't modern. (No videos showing and a lot of miniatures, though few miniatures were good to show the naval organization.) Visit can be done in 20 minutes without the film in the special room. (Hours for... More

Unfortunately for us, we were part of over a dozen bus-load tour groups from a cruise, most of them descending on this poor town all at the same time. Seeing everything we wanted to see regarding D-Day in just 1 day sometimes brought crowded conditions, particularly for those that were indoors. This place falls into that category. It was total... Anyone who is interested in the liberation of Europe from the Nazi stranglehold of the 1940's must visit Normandy and either do an arranged tour, or have done some homework. Arromanches is a key part of the history, and this museum must be visited, not too big, but plenty of information, the history of the harbour is bust mindblowing.

This museum is the perfect size---there is just enough information to give you the full picture, but not enough to give you museum fatigue. It is a sobering reminder of what happened here, and adds depth to those touring the Normandy coast who already have a grasp of the history.

I had no idea about the port that the allies built to support the D-Day invasion. It was a modern miracle and even unbelievable from today's standpoint. Without this quickly made port the allies would not have been able to sustain the victory won on D-Day. It allowed supplies to come in day after day to support the troops. The... More

This museum explains how the artificial harbour was constructed and the vital part it played in the D Day landings. It is built on the site of the artificial harbour, and the remains of the Mulberry harbour are still visible today. Inside the museum there are working models, museum collections and a film with archive footage.

This museum does a good job telling the story of the D-Day landings in WW II. There are also several interesting displays here & a very informative movie that has showings in different languages. This museum is in the town & there are places to eat & shop across the street. There are few places to park next to the... More
