Very impressive building, with beautiful stained glass. Some restoration work being carried out, but does not prevent appreciating the artistry. Just across the road are the ruins of William the Conqueror's castle.

As we drove towards the town the Church stood out simply due to it’s size! It didn’t disappoint inside either but it was being renovated (ceiling was being renovated) I’m not an expert in history but it was an important historical place as I understand...More

The Abbey central section was not accessible due to renovation. It was a very large structure, reported to have the blood of Jesus embedded in one wall. Our group was the only people there. Perhaps I've just seen to many old churches this trip.

A lot of history behind the walls. The abbey is going through a major restauration and worth the visit. It's located downtown Fecamp and there is plenty of parking space next to the cityhall. Don't forget to cross the street and go and see William...More

Gothic XII-XIII century Abbatiale de la Sainte-Trinité, where are several tombs Dukes of Normandy. During our visit Abbey was on reconstruction, but it is possible to get inside. Walls, columns, vaults became much whiter, which further highlights and reveals the greatness of Abbey.

Grand gothic cathédrale rich in history, but I have a bias being descended from Richard I and II who are buried here. Staff seems mostly volunteer, but tries to be helpful, although most not English-speaking. Be sure to check out ruins of Norman castle across...More

Tracing its' origins to AD 1001, this church was consecrated in 1099, burned in 1168, rebuilt and finished in 1219. The three story nave with chapel is approximately equal to the Notre-Dame de Paris. Take time to see the reliquary chest with reliefs depicting the...More

We have travelled much of Western Europe so have seen our fair share of cathedrals. This one is worth a stop if in the area due to its history. William the Conquerer launched from here. Important people visited. Nice little area to walk around with...More

If you are wandering around Fecamp, be sure to visit the Abbé de la Trinité; it does not seem too impressive from the outside (it was damaged many times throughout the ages), but this inside is huge and very impressive. Be sure to spend some...More

Fantastic scale - huge. Superb glass. Reverent atmosphere. Super crib when we were there. More lighting would not have come amiss.
