We saw an advert for this garden which is open to the public @ 5E per adult and thought we'd give it a try. If you have a sat-nav, set it for "La Boirie" and check for signs when you get there. This is well worth a visit, ideally when there are likely to be fewer people there, as space... More

The island is a wonderful less commercial adventure from La Rochelle - with long beaches and bicycle paths leading you towards a relaxing and very pleasant time spent on this trip.

Loved this beautiful little oasis.Small but so much to see.The garden represents years of work, talent and imagination. The use of colour was striking. We spent a happy time here and bought beautiful plants. We enjoyed speaking with the garden's creator.Well worth a visit.Reasonable price for an enjoyable experience

Well worth a visit. The owner of this garden has created a small paradise filled with an astounding variety of sages and he speaks good English. There are other interesting and well cultivated plants to see. I never knew so many sage varieties existed and there are plants for sale if you see a variety you really fancy trying for... More

Quirky and unusual with a mixture of tropical plants with a feel of an English cottage garden - hard to describe, but it will transport you to another world as it is so private and secluded with various different "rooms" filled with many rare flowers and a big collection of hostas and sages. Lovely gardens with charming and knowledgeable French... More
