We visited this workshop as part of a guided tour. We loved it! Our children never had the chance to see such a place and everything we have seen before was more modern. Of course they wish to sell, it's a business after all, but a lovely, small, family ran business that make you feel like you are guests to their home and we didn't feel any pressure at all!

We stopped here on our private tour of Naxos and loved it! We had a nice tour given by the daughter and she was wonderful. It was so hard for us to pick our favorite pieces so luckily they shipped for us at a very reasonable price and it came rather quickly! Definitely worth a stop if you are exploring the island!

If you are in Naxos, don't miss the opportunity to see Manolis in action. He creates wonderful traditional ceramic items in front of you. He brings alive techniques which have been used for thousands of years. A must-see experience.

This family pottery work shop is only for those renting a car to enjoy the delightful island of Naxos. Located in the very small village of Damalas; we enjoyed the potter and his daughter. He has many unique, historic pieces, several of which we ordered to be shipped back to New York state. Combine this site with other villages as you explore the central, northeastern and northwestern coast of this mountainous island. tel. 6971686882

We were driving around Naxos and had a recommendation to go to damalas to see the pottery. It's 4th generation shop with years of clay splattered on the walls. Pottery was nice and at a very fair cost. When I have a home to fill, I'm going to take empty bags to this place! We also got a demonstration and some info on different types of clay and drying methods (there was a little bit of a language barrier with detailed questions but we were able to generally communicate fine). This was a very worth while stop on our drive! We could have had the demo and been out in half an hour but spent more time browsing to pick out the perfect pieces since they are all hand made and very unique.

This was a 4-generations old pottery workshop in the centre of Naxos island. It is a bit of a drive (which is lovely) and is certainly worth it. It is a very authentic experience, with the owner making items while you are there. His daughter, who is friendly and bright, helps with the shop and can explain things and show you around. We purchased some charming pieces for ourselves and as gifts for friends, all at pretty reasonable prices. This was a nice experience on Naxos.

We are so happy that we explored the island of Naxos on our ATV. We came across Manolis Pottery and it did not disappoint. Manolis and his family were so welcoming when we arrived and he even made pottery right there when we were there!!! We couldn't leave with out buying a few pieces and we will definitely be back next year to add to the collection.

Well worth the drive to Damalas - which is about a 20 min drive from Naxos Town (Port). Nothing fancy so if you are looking for a white marble showroom, with fine detailed inlay work, this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a place where pottery has been passed from father to son for generations, then you need to come to meet Manolis. We were the only customers there (2 adults and 2 children) and he turned on the wheel in order to form a jug while we watched. Always fun to see, especially if you've never seen it done before.

We bought two small cute bowls and then walked into Damalas (50 meters up the road) and then to the Olive Mill & Press. That is free to enter and quite a step back in history. The pair of the pottery workshop and the Olive Press makes Damalas a must on your Naxos agenda.

(Note: As you are driving on the main road you will see a pottery store, I believe this is their store, while the workshop&store are 2 mins away in Damalas which is 200 meters off the main road)

I think it would be an amazing addition if they charged for and taught a pottery class where you could take the created piece back with you. I'd suggest 4 hours to 6 hours plus lunch for $150 / person for 2 to 3 people in a class.

We dropped in on our way to Halki, and were very warmly greeted and given an impromptu demo and tour. Lovely to see all the handmade items and colours. It's well worth buying from here are there's a significant mark up added by the artist shop in Chora, also good to directly support this family business. Note its in Damalas not Naxos Town.

Beautiful pottery! Cash only, but very reasonable prices and they will ship your purchases to the US, it was very easy. Our box arrived 4 weeks later and everything was in perfect condition .
