My wife and I went expecting an 'English' style garden. Absolutely not, a sheer delight of different areas and different styles. Goes up and down and you never know what is going to be round the corner. If you can catch one of the outdoor...More

A great garden where a lot of love has been used to make a spot of natural beauty even more captivating and pleasant. An excellent visit for all the family, and if possible (and not at midday in the summer) to be followed by a...More

10 euros well spent. The gardens are interesting with many different areas. They are on a hillside, most of which is wheelchair accessible. There was some colour in the first week of May -I can imagine there is more as the summer progresses. Reasonably priced...More

Spent a great half day here. Lots of variety, nice cafe. As a bonus, simply stunning views of the Island too. One or two practical points; the free parking is a long way from the main entrance but worth it - the street parking is...More

We had travelled from Naples to Ischia just to visit this garden. We fell in love with the island AND the garden. So much less touristy than Capri and so much more character. We braved the local buses to get there and I must say...More

Wonderful gardens across many levels but beware as you need a reasonable fitness level to make your visit worthwhile. Amazing specimen trees and shrubs, great collection of brugdansia(angel trumpets), fabulous views across the bay to Forio, plenty of WC facilities with a pleasant cafe.

Yes, I agree with all the people above: we recommend to visitors to allow half a day. It is enough to visit the garden, stroll at leisure, enjoy the view, watch the video in the museum and even stop for a coffee. Unless of... More

How far is la Mortella from porto dischia?
29 May 2015|
Response from Alessandra V | Property representative |
It is about 11 km; it takes 20 mins by car or taxi, or you can take a bus heading to Forio (40 mins) and ask the bus driver to stop at Cavallaro/La Mortella. From the bus stop it is 5 mins walk.
