Thanks thanks thanks! We are really pleased you and your family enjoyed your visit, and you were really kind leaving this review for us. Too bad you couldn't see our new aquarium, which will be opened the 13th of May and will be the greatest freshwater aquarium in Italy. Hope to see you soon again! More

Thank you so very much! You really truly understood the spirit of the Museum, as not every visitor does. The way you described it was actually touching. We're so sorry about the Insect exhibition: are you the one who wrote about it to us on Twitter? You were very kind there too. The Museum keep expanding and hosting temporary exhibition,... More

Yes, visiting this museum you get that feeling of no-upgrades for long, long time. Some sections look like old 19th Century collections with wooden reliquaries and type-writer labels under the specimens. And... we loved it! All together it was a great experience. Some of the specimens are breath taking to be honest. The building itself, the Certosa would be worth... More

Thank you so very much! We are glad you enjoyed the visit. You really caught the spirit of our Museum, much better than many Italian visitors. Many rooms are left as they were so that you can experience a trip through time, and see with your own eyes how old Museums used to look like. The Cetacean collection is the... More

This natural history museum is a hidden gem. The setting in the old monastery is spectacular and only a short walk from the town centre although it seems a world away. We thought it was a great family attraction with some wonderful exhibits. Some of the stuffed animals are very old and a bit shabby, but for me this just... More

We took the time to visit on our last day before we flew home (evening flight) and it was certainly worth it. Set in an old building in the village of Calci near the mountains, approx. 10km from Pisa. Big collection of animals, and the very impressive whale bone collection on the second floor. They have some live fish as... More

Thank you very much for your review! We are pleased to know you and your family found the Museum interesting and amusing. As for the live fish, we are very glad to announce the renovation work has already started, and we will soon be able to exhibit very bigger tasks! It had always been our priority, we just lacked of... More

Traveled here from Lucca area for the afternoon. We had a short stay for (1 and 1/2 hour), Toured the museum quickly except for the whale skeletons where we spent most of our time. They are displayed in a space with glass walls so that the terrain and exterior light becomes part of the experience.

Thank you so very much! Unfortunatelly, the Museum is not as well-known as it'd deserve, and this force many visitors, who didn't expext to be in such a large structure, to hurry so they can't enjoy the Museum as much as they could have. If you had fun, spread the word among your friends. Pisa is not only the Leaning... More

This is an excellent small museum with a fascinating dated collection. Only recommend a visit if you have exhausted your itinerary or looking for a fun outing for the family. It is located next to the Certosa in Calci which combined make a better site to visit. The setting is absolutely beautiful and there are multiple areas to walk around... More

Thank you so much for your words! Yes, the setting is actually wonderful (I can see it from my window right now). And, in fact, there are a lot of thigs to do (and a lot of time to spend) in this area. But it's a great time also! Unfortunatelly, the Museum in not well-known among the tourists (italians or... My husband and I visited here one day while staying in Pisa. We visited the neighboring Certosa di Pisa too (the two have very separate entrances). If you like animals and history, this is the place for you as many taxidermied specimens are on display. It's well organized and labelled. They have a nice gift shop. I would think school... More

Thank you very much for appreciating our exhibitions. We are sorry for the bus pickups being not so frequent, it is inconvenient also for us who work here; by the way, this is why the place is so quiet and peaceful! We hope to see you again soon. More
