The statue in the middle of this picturesque square is of Giovanni di Verrazzano, the man who discovered New York harbor.

There are many towns in Tuscany with markets but the market here in Greve was really great. There was a mixture of food, clothing, housewares, etc all in the town square. When we returned a few days later, the town looked totally different, without all...More

This was the main shopping area in Greve-in-Chianti. Although the restaurants are just average, there is decent shopping for bread, meat and cheese, and vegetables and fruit. Also, on Saturdays and some Sundays, there is a market in the square and it's a lot of...More

Greve in Chianti is a lovely town located within the Tuscan vineyards. We were lucky to be there on Saturday so we could visit the local market on the square.

We went on New Year's Day and most places were closed but it was nice that there weren't a lot of people. Cute square with lots of places to eat.

You can stand in the middle of this piazza and look around you and there is color everywhere. Great restaurants, shops and wine bars. Of course on Saturday morning it is the host of the Market until 13.00.

This is the central plaza in Greve-in-Chianti. Around are restaurants, butiques, bank,Tourist Office and a great store selling wines, oils, cheeses, olives, breads and many other delicacies from Chianti's area. It is a place for wine tasting, also.
