Watched the last evening performance on Sunday and it was as great as anybody here says it is. Incredible pageantry. Must say however that even understanding Italian perfectly would not save you because of the old fashioned language and dialect that accompanies the entire performace...More

Partita a Scacchi is way more than just chess game - there are so many characters in historical outfits with great details. Before the game starts, and during you get to meet main characters, there are troops with flags, drums, ... Truly a medieval show!...More

We enjoyed our casual walk through the city. Great shops; my wife especially liked the fungus ( mushroom) shops. We bought several bags of porcini mushrooms. Also bought a wallet that we were told was made in Italy. Turned out to be made in India...More

It is always great to visit Marostica but on that weekend it is the best! You can explore the town the same way - the churches are open, all cafee places and restaurants have an additional charm, but there will be many more... More

Hi, There are parking places just outside the city walls, normally you have to pay a fee. Actually I do not know if they are going to change the rules for the Partita a scacchi, I suggest you to give a call to the tourist... More
