Great Tribute to the General

The memorial is historically accurate, and serves as a good chronicle of the General's life. For those interested in research, the archives are some of the best on Virginia.

I enjoyed my walk through the General's life. He was a very interesting man who significantly impacted major worldwide events of the 20th century. Well laid out.

Was amazed by how much information about the life of MacArthur was available in the museum and how much I didn't know about him. Was fascinating reading and the displays were fabulous. Definitely go across the road to the Gift Shop and Visitor Center. I am a bit handicapped so the elevator was much appreciated. Could have been more chairs... More

This is where General MacArthur and his wife are interned. There is a library and history center that has vast amounts of information covering WWI, WWII, & Korea.

I visited the MacArthur Memorial as a work outing last year and was shocked. I honestly had no idea it was there - had never noticed it - right beside the mall - and I've been there more than 2 dozen times in the years I've lived here. I really enjoyed the tour we had arranged with an on-site guide... More

I learned so much about this man and our country during the time he served. I now have a better understanding of our country. We went back the next day with more people and it was just as enjoyable because there is so much information you can't pick it all up in one trip.

Well worth a visit, especially for a WWII history buff! We spent a couple of hours here and really enjoyed it! The General and his wife are buried in the rotunda and you can see the marble slabs covering the graves with their names on each one. There are several wings to the museum, each covering a different part of... More

I had no idea that Gen. MacArthur and his wife were buried there! I spent hours reading the fascinating stories of WWII and his accomplishments. Pictures, artifacts, maps and charts - it is fantastic way to spend your time while you are in Norfolk. Best of all, it is free. I strongly recommend this place!
