The Half Rabbit is a piece of street art located in the back alleys of the Vila Nova de Gaia neighbourhood which is literally made from trash and garbage. Created by Portuguese artist, Bordallo II, using repurposed materials such as metal pieces and plastic containers, this sculpture of a rabbit appears to fold in two on the corner walls of a building, with one half multicolor-painted while the other half unpainted; thereby sending a subtle yet powerful message of society's wastefulness and its environmental consequences. A truly astonishing trashy artwork that will leave you in awe and admiration!

The half rabbit is a stunning piece of street art all made from rubbish. You see the ful image from the front where you can see both sides of the building the rabbit is located on. Each side is different to the other and you can get two interesting views of the sides and then the whole thing. Lovely.

We ran into him without counting. That's great. At first we didn’t realize what it was until someone commented that it was a rabbit and so we walked away to see it and effectively. A giant rabbit of recycled materials. Great idea, I'd like to see more in more places.

I made a special trip to find this funky little piece of street art and so pleased I made the effort as it turned out to be one of my favourite photos. Just one block back back from theVila Nova de Gaia waterfront past the Sandeman building. Try to pick a time when there are no cars parked in front of it and no tourists.

Another happy surprise. I had no idea this spectacular example of street art was tucked around the corner from a popular restaurant strip. We were wandering down an alley when we found it. Photos don't do it justice.

This is a piece of junk, literally. But turned into a 3 D art installation by the artist and very impressive it is. If you are on this side of the river then search it out, it’s only a short stroll from the river up a side street.
The only issue is that it is on quite a busy side street as far as traffic is concerned, so if you want to get a photograph without cars in it you will need to be patient.

An amazing piece of street art. I lucked out as I was staying less than a 5 minute walk from it. Being that close, it was absolutely worth a visit. However, in my opinion, if it is more than 15 minutes out of your way, it is probably not worth a special trip. Taking it in and taking photos from all angles will only take you a few minutes.
