So much history!

Our guide who actually lives in frigiliana told us all about the panels and history of frigiliana. Really interesting and well worth following the trail if you are visiting frigiliana.

Lovely walk and history in twelve panels
Feb. 2019 • Couples
During out walk in Frigiliana we came across these panels which are telling the history. We found around 8 but there are 12 we noticed later. The panels are in old Spanish but with pictures. On the internet later we found the route for all 12 panels. Great addition to this Anton Piek place.

The twelve panels
Jan. 2019 • Solo
Last year when we visited I tried to locate all the panels but failed! A quick internet research gives you the individual locations and they’re actually not where I expected them to be. Also, there seems some confusion over installation date (1982 or 1960s). However, I think the the four panels on wall of Plaza del Ingenio are those from 1982 (see my pic) as they’re not included on the location map I found. Regardless, they’re all definately interesting (but all inSpanish), colourful and depict the months leading up to the Battle of the Penon in 1569. If you’re interested then suggest you use the map (see my pic) and you’ll find it easy to follow the trail - enjoy!

History panels
Feb. 2018 • Solo
Noticed a set of four tiled panels set in the wall below Plaza del Ingenio which looked interesting but all in Spanish. Walking further around the upper streets and alleys I noticed a few more. Would have liked to know about what they were depicting, although I was able to gather they reflect the early period of Frigiliana’s history. An added attraction to this photogenic town.

What a way to learn the history
Jan. 2018 • Friends
One of the interesting surprises of Frigiliana is walking around the old part and discovering these set of panels in different locations, telling the history of the village from medieval to now!

As the village is on a hillside it also helps build your stamina to find these panels ;)
