We have some knowledge of Spanish but we asked if they did an English tour and how long it was. They didn’t, but the guide (Eva) said she knew some English and it would take around two hours. We started the tour with two other Spanish couples and we started to explore Úbeda we were able to clarify our understanding with Eva in English but understood a lot anyway. The tour was well informed and a mine of information and with a bonus of visiting three private museums as well. The Spanish couples only did half of the tour and we continued on what could be described as a private tour and intensive Spanish lesson. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the extra Spanish lesson as well as returning to the tour start just under three hours later. Cannot fault Eva’s knowledge, dedication and patience and would recommend it highly. Dave and Clair.

Eva Maria is an incredible accomplished tour guide, Having studied Art History and living and breathing Art and history every hour of her life ( she lives in one of the several historic places she shows ) makes her a very entertaining and authorative Source of sepharadic Jewish life in medieval Spain. Ubeda, is an historic architectural jewel and seeing How the Jewish people were intertwined with the daily life , royal court intrigues against them and the glory and tragedy of their times is really fascinating. The places visited are unique for their historic value. Very much Reccomend it. We happen to be Jewish and have to admit this experience touched our souls!., thank you Eva Maria and family.

We did our tour with Eva and we are so glad we did! What a treat! We were taken on a fascinating tour of little known parts of Ubeda looking at the history of the 'convertidos' in the city. (These were the Jews who converted to Christianity) We visited privately-owned museums which we had all to ourselves, were able to ask questions endlessly and really understand a bit more of the history of Ubeda off the well beaten tourist trail. Not to be missed

Me and my partner took a wonderful guided tour of Ubeda old town with Eva. We had already spent 24 hours in town before the tour and we thought we had seen most of the interesting sites and strolled around pretty much all the interesting streets. We realized we actually hadn't when we took an amazing guided tour with Eva. She opened the doors of incredible palaces for us and uncovered countless fascinating aspects of the history of the city too. She's extremely knowledgeable, flexible (she allowed time for questions and pictures throughout the tour when we wanted), sensitive (she also highlighted the beauty of the singing of birds and the colours of sunset during the tour), enthusiastic (you can tell she loves what she does) and super friendly too. After the tour, we felt we had made a friend in Ubeda. It was lovely. I have been to many guided tours myself and this one stood out for its originality, fascinating details, friendliness and flexibility. Thank you Eva for a wonderful tour.

We enjoyed a most excellent tour given by Eva Maria. She explained in detail the elaborate ornamentation on the grand buildings but just as interesting she pointed out details on lesser buildings which we would never otherwise have noticed. As we went about she discussed the wider historical context. Eva's English is not perfect and our Spanish is non-existent yet she managed to get a great depth of information across in a delightfully conversational way. We enjoyed the three curious little houses we visited - a good antidote to the stunning grandeur of so many of the buildings. If you really want to learn something other than the superficial about this historic town insist on Eva being your guide. After the tour we enjoyed a beer and Tapas together with Eva and enjoyed her company very much.
