We visited off-season and didn't reserve but you should, especially if your trip is time-sensitive. The women who work in the ticket office are a bit surly -- I can't imagine how they handle the high season -- but once you get past that, you'll...More

This is a great little museum, a must see. The home as Dali left it after the death of his wife. Check out the gift shop and walk down the sea shore out the front door.

Nice house, nice view, interesting facts about the artist. Worth visitng, however you have to book in advance. Many tourists and the visits are restricted to 8 people each hour or so.

The visit to Dal's house at Portlligat rounded off our Dali experience. Access to the house itself is limited to a handful of visitors to avoid overcrowding and advanced booking is essential if you want to experience this gem. Don't be put off by this...More

What a great experience and way to understand in depth the psyche of this artist. You can see where he chose to live, the views from his windows, as well as the unique floor plan and decorating.

We stopped at the Dali Museum-House in Port Ligat on our hiking outing from the lighthouse at Cap de Crues back to Cadaques. My hiking companion had tried to book tickets two days before, but there were none available at times compatible with our hiking...More

Dali’s home is on the shore of the Mediterranean adjacent to Cadaqués. The home is rather small, but very innovative in how he made the most of light. Like everything else with Dalí, one must experience it to fully appreciate his genius.

Cadaques, Spain is a very quaint, small seaport village. When visiting the Dali Museum-House, schedule your time for the visit early as the tour group size is kept small and scheduled tour times are limited. The tours were in Spanish, so translators were not available...More

Following is a sinopsis of our day trip to Figures and Port Lligat. You can find a bus to get you to Figures and possibly one to Port Lligat, but you would have to make it a two day trip to get back to Barcelona. We would... More

For car rental, there are several in Figueras (Europcar, Budget, etc) and in Girona. Driving should be straight forward, but make sure you have a good GPS if you want to make the Dali triangel.

I think you have the answers to your question above. I would add that I believe it would be a mistake not to give Cadaques a bit more time. Consider spending a night or two there.
