We went there on the ferry from Locarno and whilst we thought it strange that our Swiss Pass wouldn't work on the ferry (it's apparently an Italian company) I can recommend a visit to This island. Mainly for it's garden that has plants from all around the world. There was a wedding happening on the Saturday afternoon we visited (on... More

ISOLE di brissago is beautiful! Full of flowers everywhere and fun for kids because you can do a treasure hunt that leads you around the island! The food is very good and the milkshakes are amazing! Once we had to go back I didn't want to because it was one of the best days of my life . IT WAS... More

Stunning gardens, gorgeous little hideaways and much more to see than what you would expect from the size of the island. We got here mid morning which was good as it was getting much busier by the time we left. I could quite easily have spent another 2-3 hours here. If you want to relax, take a good book and... More

If you are cruising on the lake from Locarno or one of the other locations you have the choice of hopping off the boat to visit this little island. The island has created the most beautiful botanic gardens with species from around the world. It also has a hotel on site where you can either have a meal or simply... More

The island is a very beautiful place, well worth a visit! I'd recommend going early and making a day trip out of it- the timings of the ferry are not ideal. We had just under 1.5 hours on the island, which we thought was plenty but it went very quickly! Just enough time to walk around and have a quick... More

Watch out at the garden you can pay with credit card above chf 70. So take cash with you. The garden is nice. Well maintained and nice to walk trough. It was... More

It is quite fun having to get to a botanic garden by boat but being an island means one can easily see where one has already walked and what there is left to see. Different areas show plants from different parts of the world and there is a small exhibit for Pro Specie Rara (rare breeds). There is a main... More

What a dream, what a discovery ! A Treasure Island where flowers, trees, butterflies, birds, scents and colours will surround you. You can even relay on a tiny beach, dream on a bench, drink on a fantastic patio overlooking the lake or even spend a romantic night in the hotel...

On a hot day, the perfect point for relaxation. There is a wide variety of tropical and subtropical plants, including giant trees and landscaped gardens. Is ample space for relaxation and it is possible to swim in the lake.

Isole di Bressago -a place which belonged to the baroness Antoinette St Leger who liked gardening and handsome men.A lot of artists came to this island and she created a botanical garden with plants from all over the world.
