Not much to see here, this is not a pleasure pier, but if you appreciate history and our engineering achievements, this is pretty big, being the World's Oldest Cast Iron Pier. Worth a look, but I wouldn't stay here for long unless you are visiting...More

At the bottom of the High Street on the opposite side of the road is Gravesend Pier. The pier is apparently the oldest remaining cast iron pier in the world and opened in 1834. There is a restaurant and bar on the pier but we...More

Although this site was restored by the Gravesham Borough Council at the turn of the century it's never going to be visually appealing, but rather its more of interest as a historic footnote. It was designed by William Tierney Clark and between 1835-1842 it served...More

Old metal river pier. Nowadays it's the way onto the Ferry. Restaurant at the end next to a friendly pub at the beginning. Worth a visit when visiting the town.

A fantastic place, I enjoy visiting once in a while. It has been renovated you know with new paint and steel. Watching the Thames Wilde life, yachts and RNLI is good.

To walk out onto the pier and than onto the pontoon is quite relaxing and gives one a view of Gravesend from out in the river Thames.

The oldest iron pier structure in Europe hold the Town Pier above the River Thames. It has been refurbished throughout and now has a restaurant and floating pontoon. The floating pontoon allows easy access to the Tilbury / Gravesend ferry.
