Great flat circular walk around the lake, great for dog walkers or there is off road routes for bikes. Lots of parking which is reasonable priced. There is a play area half way round but for older children around 4 years old. There are lots of places to eat and an amusement area. Lovely 'beach' where children can paddle. Also... More

A leisurely walk with the two dogs, at any time of day. Depending on which end of the walk you either start or end at a cafe is always close by. A good experience to build up your appetite before the start of your main Sunday meal.

The path around the lake offers an accessible circular walk from one of the car parks and if it's a dry day, a very pleasant 90 minutes or so. There are several places to eat and drink on the village side of the lake.

This is a beautiful Lake, often overlooked, but always a great place to visit. I often walk round alone, taking in the scenery, which is amazing. If you are lucky, you might spot deer, but you will always see a variety of birds, ducks and geese. When my grandchildren visit, they also love to go to the Lake, which can... More

If you want to get fit, a walk round the lake will suit you, just make sure you take boots or wellingtons because of the mud, oh and, careful of the dog muck... Oh yes and, make sure you have enough money because thing's aren't cheap. One more thing... expect to tear your hair out trying to find a parking... More

The largest body of water for swimming in the area. However, just stood and remembered, after all it was November.

Just good to drive or walk round area. Few places to eat but often crowded. Rochdale and Milnrow close by.

Brilliant walk around the lake although some of the road round are not good when it's been raining .can be a bit muddy. Need to wear proper walking shoes. Great cafe halfway round the lake and a few cafe/other restaurants dotted along the lake back. There a no of Carparks and also a disabled Carparks situated on the side of... More
