Very nice for a walk during summer. Nice and clean place always great for a short cut to places. A lot of dog walkers and cycling activities going on all the time.

A good level walk. There was a good choice of venues at Sowerby Bridge. You will be as quiet as you want.

The walkj on the canal from smithybridge to walsden is really lovely. You can always get the train back if it proves too much. There is a lovely tea room just after summit called the waterfall.

we parked at Littleboro Railway Station then strolled to Todmorden, along the tow path, it took just over 2hrs, had lunch, then jumped on train back! about 6 n half mile....

This was my first visit to Rochdale town centre to see the opening of the Rochdale Canal in the centre, it is very impressive and a really good addition to the wonderful square which also has the very impressive Town Hall.

I haven't walked on the canal path for over a year now and thought I'd take my mum..we started at firgrove to walk up to smithybridge..its a lot cleaner in parts but the trees overhanging on the way is a bit annoying the council need...More
