Our second visit to Chartwell, and this time we just enjoyed walking around the gardens, enjoying well thought out shrubberies, lakes and flower beds. So much room, that it didn't seem crowded. We visited the studio and viewed Churchill's paintings - without doubt he was...More

Over crowded, even on a weekday. Feels touristy, unlike nearby Hever Castle, and Quebec House. Some officious stewards in house, including one lady who was unnecessarily aggressive to a visitor. All house stewards appeared 65+. Main house crowded, even with a timed ticket. You're not...More

Wonderful and beautiful gardens, particular the kitchen garden. I could have spent a few hours just in the gardens alone. The house is nice and interesting from a historic point of view if Winston Churchill is your cup of tea. What really let the experience...More

This is a lovely house and the gardens are nicely maintained. The car park is relatively close to the house, visits into the house are on timed tickets, but there is no rush once you are in the house, there is a One Way system...More

This was my third visit to Chartwell and I continue to be impressed at just how livable the house is; I could easily move in tomorrow and feel right at home. The same cannot be said for too many "historic houses" or "great places". And...More

Located off the B2026 near Toy's Hill in a beautiful, tranquil area. Chartwell has glorious views across The Weald and is situated on a hillside location with sloped grounds and steps and terraces. The gardens are attractive and there are lovely walks through the estate,...More
