This Cemetery has a very interesting history and if you look around with help of some signage some of the original railway features can be found. There are some very ornate and architectually pleasing structures in the cemetrey and in general all seems to be well maintained. It is a very peaceful environment and one could spend a great deal... A lovely peaceful place, for the final resting place and memorials for our fallen soldiers. We couldn't get over the size and how well maintained the grounds are.

The military areas are beautifully maintained and the public areas are huge and sprawling but full of remarkable headstones with many gems of inscriptions. Strongly recommended for... More

I haven't yet been to the "civilian" side of the cemetery. I've only visited the military side with some friends. However, it's still a lovely place to walk around, learn things, and make observations. The staff in the American section is very knowledgeable and helpful; they'll tell you some really interesting things about some of the people buried (and even... More

Since Brookwood Cemetery has gone back into Woking Borough Council's care, the amount of work being carried out is amazing. Headstones have been regained after years of neglect where flora and fauna had taken over. I see it improving on every visit. It is somewhere to gather your thoughts, see sadness when you read a headstone of someone taken well... More

We visited the cemetery with two friends from Australia who had flown in the previous day. We all found the grounds very peaceful and full of birdsong. The sculptures on the graves was very interesting and often quite charming. It is possible to drive through the Cemetary or just take a walk. Well worth a visit

Brookwood Cemetery is an amazingly large area of tranquil green space with well-defined walkways and good car parking. It contains some truly outstanding examples of Victorian & Gothic memorials - some remarkably well preserved - which was my main interest. There are several more recent Mausoleum developments & areas dedicated to particular religious groups with an on-site Monastery too. And... More

I have always lived close to the cemetery so try to use it as much as possible. You get a certain feeling when you visit. I would recommend if this is your first visit, bringing literature or read up on the place before you go, you will be surprised what you will learn (I won't give it away on here).... More
