Having the nearby Cenarth falls, we took a detour to visit the Newcastle Emlyn Castle ruins overlooking the river below. Well signposted from the town centre, with small car park with cheap parking for an hour. Free to visit and explore. Lots ogf local kids...More

We visited the castle ruins recently whilst on a trip to Newcastle Emlyn. The history of the castle was interesting to read and a short walk around the castle was worth the effort.

Visited a couple of days ago with my wife and our dog. There is not much left of the castle itself but it's still very interesting. The best part has to be the walk around the castle, a lovely walk around the edge of the...More

The Castle itself isn't that good but it is worth a look. We both thought the walk around the site was much more enjoyable and interesting. A word of caution, it is not easy to park in the tiny car park by the site, much...More

Gorgeous quaint little castle with beautiful scenery and a walk too. There are picnic benches and shops nearby to grab a coffee.

I was let down to find nothing left standing apart from rubble. I mean, I have been to worst castles but this ranks in with my collection. Nice walk with blackberries if you want to go blackberry picking. Wouldn't recommend

If castles are you're thing then Newcastle Emlyn is certainly worth a visit. Built in the 13th Century and lots of walls still standing. Cheap parking nearby and town worth a look round.
