Iceberg Quest Ocean Tours has daily sightseeing boat tours departing from Twillingate, an outport community on the north east coast, internationally known as, "The Iceberg Capital of the World!". This is a land that is both familiar and mythical, where strangers are friends, and the unexpected is routine. There is no better place on earth to view 12,000 year old icebergs up close and personal. Every year the migrating humpback whales return to play and showcase their newly born calves. The world's closest iceberg viewing occurs during May and June, while the world's largest group of migrating whales visit our waters between June and August. Visit Canvas Cove Bistro and Twillingate Art Gallery on our premises. Two hour tours departing daily at 9:30am, 1:00pm, 4:00pm and 7:00pm with traditional and local music, snacks and full bar service. Screechins' on request. Private charters and special packages available. Experience the wonder of the rugged coastline and pristine waters as we take our guests to a place beyond their imagination. Step aboard ...Experience the WONDER...Your MEMORIES will last a LIFETIME!

We were out with Captain Barry and his crew this morning. Unfortunately we didn't see an iceberg. Darn Mother Nature. We had a fantastic time anyway. Saw the bald eagles and ospreys and Barry gave us a nice history of the Twillingate area. We would...More

While staying in St.John we debated taking an iceberg tour (with iceberg quest) or waiting and going to their sister location in Twillingate. We called the number to book with iceberg quest and said we were looking for an iceberg tour, the man said no...More

We were very excited about the boat tour, even though we were aware there were no icebergs or whales we were promised a great experience. Some people were sleeping, we just boated around in the cold windy day and saw a bald eagle so far...More

Thoroughly enjoyed our time with Barry and his crew! Cruise was excellent. We spent time around a beautiful iceberg, then we watched a pair of adult eagles and their young in a nest nearby. The iceberg beer was especially cold and refreshing as well!

We went out in mid June knowing that the icebergs were not as prevalant and not as big as anyone would like. There was a growler out there that the captain got us to and we had a great look at how they act on...More

I've done the tour on May, 17th. The staff was friendly and the coastline was nice! But no one talked about whales and icebergs! The haven't said something like that there are no whales or icebergs out right now. The boat was on the water...More

The ad says you will see icebergs, puffins and whales. We didn’t see any of them. We saw seagulls and an eagle from a great distance. The only saving grace was the friendly staff.

Google "Twillingate iceberg season" for the answer to the first question. As for "top rated hotel", a little searching in TripAdvisor will give you that answer.
