Trout River Pond may not be quite as spectacular as the much better known Western Brook Pond, but it is still gorgeous. The hike along the north shore is not as famous as the much more arduous trail up Gros Morne Mountain, but it is...More

While the Gros Mourne accommodations in Trout River Pond were clean and staff are helpful and friendly the location was out of the way. It was a 45-60 min drive from the viking trail (where most of the hikes are located). My advice would be...More

We had a wonderful day hike with Rebecca. Rebecca was very knowledgeable and shared her knowledge in a very easy, interesting way. The same walk can be done on your own. The walk was not difficult. It was worth it for us to have Rebecca...More

I found the location of this hike to be quite out of the way.. We were geocaching and needed to find a geocache on this trail to complete the Gros Morne Geocaching Challenge. I didn't know about a water taxi ? The trail was very...More

Could so easily be missed as it's not signposted from town, we hit upon it by chance. A great place to stop for a picnic with fantastic views.

Great place to wander and talk to the locals. Lengthy boardwalk and busy pier. Nice trail up the hill and along the seashore at the end of the wooden sidewalk.

This is a longer trail but the mixed scenery makes it a bit unique. You start off with a relatively flat trail along the side of the water, but later find yourselves in the tablelands with a bear desert like landscape. The views near the...More

Past Woody Point, the tablelands and even Trout River itself lies a 14km return trail (7km and retrace your steps) leaving from the pond side park via a boardwalk and through dense forest which can be challenging if muddy, before eventually opening up to the...More

This hike is right at the southern end of the park and is long but quite moderate. You will nonetheless want hiking boots for the trip, especially if you have rain or plan to hike the entire trail. The trail takes you through several different...More
