I've been to a lot of children's museums and this one tops them all for children 5 - 10 - over Liberty Science Center and Boston. Its as if it was planned through the eyes of what children are really interested in - how to load a sea container (thank you Maersk!) and being able to get inside a train... More

We took our 3 granddaughters, ages 10,12,and 14 to the Childrens' Museum. The 10 year old chose this museum and talked her older sisters out of their suggestions. The girls have happy memories of previous visits. For that reason I give it an excellent rating. For the first 10 minutes,I was sure we would be leaving, but no,we were there over an hour. I'm... More

My family and my friend went to this place yesterday. The work crew was friendly. It kept my toddler and us entertained for hours. They have multiple electric train sets, plasma ball (huge), mock fire truck, and many more things for kids and adults to have fun with.

We went on a Sunday so it was not busy. The attractions were great for a 3 1/2 year old, they even had a nursing room and family bathrooms which made it nice for our 5 month old. Best thing of all, Teachers get a discount.

I think it's great too as spilt up the time into 5 mins chucks and alternate between which kid gets to choose. There are a lot of different rooms there so the kids do not get bored (or I). My only two gripes are that their is too much space given to the model railway and some of the rooms... More

This place it the perfect place for young children especially if they have a lot of energy. It's nice not to have to worry about them touching everything. This is my son's favorite place to go!

We chose to visit based on trip advisor, and the fact that we were looking for family fun. Like most places in the area, they do offer a military discount. This is a 2 level museum. There are lots of neat exhibits, and they are all interactive. As I stated, this is best for elementary aged and younger children. I feel... More

Visited the Portsmouth Children's museum when they had reciprocity if you had a Norfolk Zoo membership so it was a great deal. Took my 3 yo (almost 4) granddaughter. So much to do on all levels. For example, she may not understand magnetism but the activities were lots of fun. Her favorites are the grocery store, the tug boat, and... More

This place is fantastic. We took our 1 1/2 year old and there was plenty for her to do at her young age. Place seems clean and it wasn't overly crowded. In September Zoo members get in free!

We have been to many children's museums nationwide and this one has to rank in the top 5. Many of the attractions are typical, such as the city street with a pretend bank, grocery store, etc, as well as the science section, but they also have a fabulous train layout, a section on saving energy in the home, about the...
