We loved this museum! It is housed in an unassuming building that, inside, sort of looks like a school cafeteria. There are rooms along either side of the large space, and each one is replicated to look like one of the rooms familiar to anyone...More

My husband and I visited Waltons Mt. Museum Nov.6, 2017 and enjoyed reminiscing. They had lots of pictures signed from the cast and mock ups of rooms from the house. Also we visited the "real house" and had a great tour. If you loved the...More

Was the Walton's Mountain Museum exactly what I thought it would be. Yes and No. Am I glad we made the trip (drive) from Canada -absolutely. There is something very special about Schuyler, Virginia. We stayed at the White Pig B&B on Irish Road and...More

It was a beautiful drive into Schuyler. It really gave the feeling of what it was like to live in the back woods of Virginia. The museum is in the Schuyler Elementary School, that is no longer in service. The cost to get in is...More

If you grew up with this series you would find this place very interesting and nostalgic. Lots to see and the surrounding area is fantastic. Although the Hamner house is not part of the museum it's well worth a visit. It is was for sale...More

As fans of the TV show, we adjusted our trip so that we could swing by the Waltons Mountain Museum, even though the reviews and information I found online said that it wasn't exactly worth going out of one's way for. With that expectation set,...More

What a lovely little home nestled in the mountains between Shenandoah and Blue Ridge Parkway. We were very disappointed in the museum we got there a little before 3:20 and the doors were locked. We had traveled 5.5 hours to make this stop. Fortunately the...More

Growing up in the 70's, my wife and I decided to stop and visit the museum on our way home from Washington, DC. The area is quiet, peaceful, and still rural. The museum and family home are within a few hundred yards from one another....More

The museum is interesting , but that's about all we saw their. We saw the house where Earl and his family lived and that's all we found.

I did not see any dedicated hiking trails. The road leading to the little village and the museum is quite scenic. There are few vehicles so it is quite conducive to hiking.
