Its a bit hidden and there's a walk to get there from the parking lot but well worth it. The path to the fort is well maintained and wheelchair bound folks can get there with min help. Restoration and maintenance are well done and the...More

We made an impromptu stop to visit the fort. The walk out to the fort site was beautiful. There are placards along the path, sharing tidbits of information which helped to set the stage for the actual fort. The earthen fort was fairly large and...More

My husband decided to go it alone so myself and toddler stayed in the car. He came back, said it was nothing good to see. He took a lot of pictures for me, but yes, a lot of the signs were unreadable/ruined by weather maybe?...More

Nice short walking trail to the site of the long ago fort. Historical placards are posted and replica canyons are in place to get a feel for the times of war. We visited on a sunny spring day and enjoyed the outdoors.

There isn't really a fort in the traditional sense, but more of a shore battery location. Although the reproduction canons and riverviews make it a good photo op and worth a stop. The site also overlooks the "Ghost fleet" which has been greatly reduced in...More
