Peaceful Walk

We went early in the season and walked a great deal of the trails. They are well maintained and not too challenging, but provided a great variety of scenery. Great Day!

To be fair, we went over Labor Day hoping for a nice place for an afternoon. The area by the water was absolute insanity, with no space even to sit without putting down a blanket. The water was mucky and gross from all the silt being kicked up by people there. My complaints are really isolated to how crowded it... More

First time here and it is truly a beautiful park. Our campsite was private and near the bathrooms. The bathrooms could have been cleaner. We did the panning for gold trip and we had the best time. Our ranger was Garrett, and Americorp volunteer and he was an amazing guide. The four of us had the trip to ourselves si... More

The Lake Anna State Park is a great place to hike. They have many good hiking trails and spots to see the lake. My family has worked very hard on helping this park and now they have a lodge named after them!

Finch Lodge was the least we could do to honor the many accomplishments that Jo and Johnny Finch have done for Lake Anna and the Virginia State Park system as a whole thanks to years of dedication with the Friends of Lake Anna State Park and the Virginia Association for Parks. Thank you for sharing them with us! More

Personally, I love Lake Anna. It is always a great time! We rented kayaks and went out on the lake. Everyone we met was nice and courteous. The weather was beautiful. The cabin was great (dcr). The docks are in good shape. the trails are really nice with all of the exercise spots. I love the playground for the kids.... More

I assume the main draw of this campground is its proximity to the lake. We were there in the winter and so this wasn't an option for us. The campground was clean, the showers looked good, but otherwise it was pretty non-descript and not very shady (to keep in mind for the summer).

This was the first time we had rented a cabin in a Virginia State Park, and we were pleasantly surprised. Easy to find our way around after arriving after dark on Friday. Loved the porch with lake view and rocking chairs. The cabin wasn't luxurious by any stretch, but the living room furniture was comfortable, the bed sleep-able, and the... More

We have been to Lake Anna a few times camping. This time we decided to visit because of the First Day Hike and all Virginia State Parks were free. Beautiful lake and trails. We love hiking and all of Virginias State Parks...they are the best!
