Very scenic. The paths are just ok, not handicap accessible. There is very little guidance on where to go when you are on the paths.

As others have stated, this is certainly a hidden gem. Great to walk with your family, and can be easily turned from a very mild walk into a medium hike challenge. Great if you have dogs too. I recommend that you bring water to hydrate...More

Government Island provides an excellent place to walk and view nature and some of the history of this area. The view of Aquia and the assorted wild life is worth the walk.

About 2 miles easy trail, with the first portion paved; and there is a wooded walkway/bridge that takes you to the island were the trail becomes dirt but it is well marked. Lots of walkers/joggers and pet friendly!

Always a nice place to walk. Nicely barked pathway with small and less travelled paths to explore. Very dog friendly. Beautiful views of the water and birds.
